Our Innkeeper

Welcome to A Riverhouse Lodge!
My name is Brenda and I have the privilege of being the Innkeeper here at A Riverhouse Lodge. I do live on the premises, so if you need anything, please let me know.
I have been a Colorado resident for 33 years now. I spent most of that time in Colorado Springs. I was born in Ohio, but I grew up in Southern California and spent much of my time at the beach.
I also have played sports since I was a young child, so of course I’ m a fan of the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos. I love the outdoors, especially if it has to do with water. I have hiked a few 14ers, including Mt. Sherman and Mt. Democrat.
I also spend much of the summer tending to all of the beautiful flowers on our property. I was introduced to the love of gardening by my dad, he owned a landscaping business and I learned much from him.
I have had many jobs in my life, from being a Recreation Director, to teaching kids to drive, and also as an elementary school teacher. However, one job that had always been on my bucket list was to be an Innkeeper. My grandparents taught me about hospitality and making sure those around me feel at home.
I love my job and my life here in Buena Vista. I’m very social and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay at A Riverhouse Lodge.
