Adjusted for the Seasons...
Might we suggest you adjust this list for the relevant season while you’re visiting. Colorado is famous for having 4 very different seasons annually (and sometimes daily). The weather is reliably chaotic, making packing light rather difficult. Here are 5 tips to help you pack light on your upcoming trip, not specific to any season.
- Capsule Wardrobe – Have you heard of the capsule wardrobe? It’s essentially a curated collection of essential, versatile clothing items that can be mixed and matched to create a variety of outfits. This concept promotes minimalism and sustainability. We’re not saying go out and buy a new wardrobe, but when you’re packing it’s a great concept. For example, bring one pair of pants and multiple pairing tops.
- Pack for Half – If you’re on a longer trip, pack for half of your trip. Assuming there will be a way to wash your clothes – this is a great hack to save a ton of room in your suitcase.
- Pack what you Need – and not what you love. If you’re not sure, then you probably don’t need to bring it.
- Limit Electronics and Toiletries – Consider using travel size bottles, and downsize the electronics to the absolute necessities. Electronics are often fragile during travel and how that effects the rest of your suitcase.
- Don’t Bring ‘The Dresser’ – You know, that XL suitcase that mom brings on every trip. If it’s there, you’re going to fill it. Start with a smaller suitcase and it will force you to scale back. You’ll be surprised with what you don’t really need to bring.
We look forward to hosting you at A Riverhouse Lodge during your stay in Buena Vista.
